iD.EOLOGY - because best things are free (Edition: Drum n Bass)
English: Constant dripping wears away the stone. Even if grandma wasn't right about everything she said, popular lore sometimes does have a point. Tenaciously and valiantly we therefore continue to oppose the die-hard pigheads' favourite fairy-tale about netaudio being music by amateurs with our credo that the best things actually are free.
In order to make sure that apart from stone even marble and iron will break, our iD. allstars mount the diamond drum'n'bass drill-head and rev up their engines. That instead of brute force, an iD.EOLOGY compilation rather works with varied amounts of pressure and a lot of fine-tuning, really does go without saying. While Elliptic is a bit of a hatchet man, Kosmonaut is in charge of playful embellishments and Zengineers readily supply the final polishing touches. And though Sudio and Backwater Planet like to go about energetic and staccato-wise there, Dual Perception and Phour Trakk prefer to do their work in long and steady moves here.
Let us therefore grasp the opportunity and express our gratitude, not only to our honourable iD. allstars, but also to our dear grandma for her wisdom and for making all this possible.
Deutsch: Steter Tropfen höhlt den Stein. Auch wenn Oma nicht mit allem, was sie sagte, richtig lag, so hat der Volksmund eben doch auch manchmal recht. Und so setzen wir abermals dem Lieblingsmärchen betonbekopfter Ewiggestriger, Netaudio sei Musik von Amateuren, beherzt und beharrlich unser Motto entgegen, wonach es die besten Dinge einfach gratis gibt.
Damit neben Stein selbst Mamor und Eisen brechen, schrauben unsere iD.Allstars den diamantgehärteten Drum'n'Bass Bohrkopf auf und bringen ihre Maschinen ordentlich auf Touren. Dass statt mit roher Gewalt vielmehr mit unterschiedlichsten Druckstärken und viel Feinschliff gearbeitet wird, versteht sich bei einer iD.EOLOGY Compilation von selbst. Ist Elliptic eher der Mann fürs Grobe, so ist Kosmonaut für die verspielten Verzierungen zuständig, während Zengineers die finale Hochglanzpolitur übernehmen. Gehen dort Sudio und Backwater Planet energiegeladen und stakkatohaft vor, so verrichten hier Dual Perception und Phour Trakk ihr Werk in langen, gleichmäßigen Zügen.
Es könnte also kaum einen besseren Anlass dafür geben, heute einmal nicht nur unseren verehrten iD. Allstars, sondern auch unserer lieben Oma dafür zu danken, dass sie mit ihrer Weisheit all das überhaupt erst möglich gemacht hat.
